Copyright, Licensing, and Self-Archiving

By submitting a manuscript to “Political Science and Security Studies Journal”, authors agree to the following terms of publication, licensing, and use of materials.

Publication Terms

1. Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the journal the right of first publication (Download Agreement) under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits any user to copy, distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and to the first publication in this journal.

2. Authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to use the material, including the rights to publish, distribute, translate, and archive the article in both print and electronic formats. All other rights not expressly granted remain with the authors.

3. Authors may enter into separate additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the work, for example by posting it in institutional repositories or including it in a monograph, provided that proper acknowledgment of the original publication in this journal is included.

Self-Archiving Policy

The journal permits and encourages authors to deposit different versions of their manuscript in online repositories:

  • Submitted version (preprint) — the version submitted to the journal before peer review may be shared on open platforms, including arXiv, SSRN, ResearchGate, and institutional repositories;
  • Accepted version (postprint) — the version after peer review but before typesetting may be shared, provided that the journal is acknowledged as the future place of publication;
  • Published version (Version of Record) — the final published version may be shared without restriction, provided that full bibliographic citation and a hyperlink to the official journal website are included.

This policy complies with international open access practices and Sherpa/RoMEO recommendations.

Author Ethical Responsibilities

By submitting a manuscript, the author confirms that:

  • the work does not infringe upon the copyright of any third party;
  • the manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere;
  • the work does not contain plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data.

All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening using specialized software.

Authors are required to:

  • disclose any conflicts of interest, including financial, academic, institutional, or personal conflicts;
  • ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data and results presented;
  • provide underlying data upon request for editorial verification, if necessary.

Rights Granted to the Journal

The author grants the Editorial Board of “Political Science and Security Studies Journal” a non-exclusive license to:

  • publish the article in English;
  • distribute the article in print and electronic formats;
  • index and disseminate the article in scientific databases, repositories, and information systems.

Author Rights

Authors retain the right, without additional permission from the journal, to:

  • use the article, in whole or in part, for educational purposes;
  • reuse the material in their own academic works, including dissertations;
  • use the content for conference papers, presentations, and reports;
  • deposit electronic copies of the article in:
    • personal websites;
    • institutional repositories;
    • non-commercial open-access platforms.

Mandatory Attribution Requirement

In all cases of reuse or distribution, authors and users must provide:

  • a full bibliographic citation of the article; and/or
  • a direct hyperlink to the officially published version on the journal website.
